GBTWYCF is currently being shown on SBS1 @ 8.30pm. The second of three episodes shown over three nights was on air thisevening.
During the first episode the 6 Australians, only one of which isn't anti-refugees/racist, spent a week with refugees granted assylum. 3 of them including self proclaimed racist and Afro hater Raquel stayed with a Congolese family who had waited in a refugee camp till they were resettled in Australia. The other 3 stayed with a group of Iraqi men who where "boat people".
The group then got on an Indonesian fishing boat that looks like a death trap and would usually house 50 or so refugees. After an evening on sea with tempers getting a bit out of control the vessel started to leak severley and at day break caught fire however they where never in danger.

In tonights episode we met a family of 50 'The Chins' who are UN certified refugees waiting for resettlement. However they dont have any rights in Malaysia, if they are stopped on the street or working they will get arrested and very possibly tortured. The group lived with the Chins in their two bedroom apartment for a week.

On the groups last day in Malaysia the group said very teary goodbyes to the Chins only to find out they were going to participate in a raid on a group of refugees later that evening.

I won't go into all the details but SBS encouraged people to 'have your say' on their website. Below is 'my say' which apparently wasn't suitable to be posted on the discussion...oh well.

Re: The surf life savers behavior during the raid.

First he says he hopes it's not the Chins and he won't have anything to do with it if they are, then he snitches on so many people including women during the raid then he turns around and says he would jump on a boat. Its like why would he snitch on people with exactly the same problems and desires as the Chins? What a hypocrite! If I was there I would have subbed for the person in the bush and under the floorboards and helped them get away!

Raquel is a dead set gronk. She chose to go on the show with an idea of what would happen and she's being a whingey, stubborn little itchbay.

Also why is the guy who's great grandparents or whatever are Muslims (the one with the horrible sunnies) being so religionist against muslims?

It's an amazing show but by god the people on it are pissing me off! However they are the ones that need to live this experience so that they'll hopefully learn something.
